“The gift you receive; give as a gift” (Matthew 8:10) was the premise for the Alumni for Others program started by Peg Dolan, RSHM '58 in 1998, as an opportunity for LMU alumni to give back to their community. The first Alumni for Others community service project was upgrading the facilities at two Los Angeles inner city catholic schools, Blessed Sacrament and Columbkille.
As a continuation of this premise, Loyola Marymount University is again sponsoring a National Day of Service on Saturday, January 23, 2010. This year, there are fifteen regions throughout the USA, where non-profit organizations have graciously accepted our offer to provide volunteers. Please note: once all the details have been confirmed for each region, time, location and on-line registration will be possible by clicking a specific region below.
